What are Solfeggio Frequencies?
It all started when I bought a set of Solfeggio tuning forks and began to learn and understand how sound vibration and specifically, the Solfeggio hertz frequencies, can positively impact the human body.
The Solfeggio frequencies are a series of musical tones said to be used by Gregorian monks when they chanted in meditation.
Each of the syllables in the Solfeggio music scale were taken from the first stanza of a medieval hymn to St. John the Baptist:
Ut queant laxis Resonare fibris Mira gestorum Famuli tuorum Solve polluti Labii reatum Sancte Iohannes.
The translation from the original Latin is: "So that your servants may, with loosened voices, resound the wonders of your deeds, clean the guilt from our stained lips, O Saint John." (Source.)
These musical frequencies and their respective scale was rediscovered in 1974 by Dr. Joseph Puleo. Dr Puleo, a naturopath and one of America's leading herbalists, began his research of the Solfeggio frequencies in the mid-1970's. His research led him to the book of Numbers, in the Old Testament of the Bible, chapter 7, verses 12-83 where he discovered a repeating pattern of codes around a series of the numbers 3, 6, and 9.
He then deciphered these using a Pythagorean method of reducing the verse numbers to their single digit integers, revealing a series of six electromagnetic sound frequencies that correspond to the six missing tones of the ancient Solfeggio scale. (Source)
The Solfeggio frequencies are said to stimulate the conscious and subconscious mind, bringing about the body's own innate natural inner healing.
There are six main Solfeggio frequencies:
• UT – 396 Hz – transforming grief into joy and guilt into forgiveness
• RE – 417 Hz – clears negativity and removes subconscious blockages
• MI – 528 Hz – stimulates courage, restores equilibrium, repairs DNA
• FA – 639 Hz – strengthens relationships, family, and community unity
• SOL – 741 Hz – assists with communication and self expression
• LA – 852 Hz – awakens intuition and helps you return to spiritual balance.
The more I began working with the tuning forks, a thought suddenly occurred to me. I began to wonder:
Since certain sound frequencies are beneficial to the body and can promote a sense of well-being, and we also know that essential oils have been used throughout history to promote health and wellness, is there a correlation between essential oils and certain vibrational sound frequencies?
